چکیده
The main objective of this research work was to evaluate the variation in nutritional profile, antioxidant, anti-proliferative and antibacterial activities selected species Brassica. Five locally grown Brassica (cauliflower, broccoli, red cabbage, white cabbage Chinese cabbage) were collected from Ayub Agriculture Research Institute (AARI), Faisalabad, Pakistan. Polyphenolic rich extracts these Brassicaceae prepared by Soxhlet extraction technique using ethanol. Phenolic acids, flavonoids sugar contents investigated determined quantified RP-HPLC. Antioxidant activity carried out measurement total phenolic (TPC), flavonoid (TFC), reducing potential 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging capacity. Anti-proliferative all MTT assay on lung cancer cell line A549. Antibacterial tested against two bacterial strains, i.e., Bacillus cereus (B. cereus) Escherichia coli (E. coli). HPLC analysis revealed presence gallic acid, p-coumaric chlorogenic acid benzoic as major whereas catechine most extracts. TPC ranged 9.7 32.8 mg/g dry plant material, measured GAE TFC 7.7 23.7 CE. Higher found extract followed cauliflower, cabbage. Red also showed higher DPPH (IC50 = 2.3 µg/mL) Maltodextrose fructose Promising recorded
